What should I do when a death occurs? Our staff is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Just contact us.
What information do I need when I first call?
Basic information such as: the name of the deceased, place
of death, name of the next of kin. At this point, a member of our staff will assist you.
What if the death occurs away from home? We can assist you with arrangements by transferring the
deceased to or from any location throughout the world.
I have never made funeral arrangements before.
How will I know what needs to happen and when? Providing your family with information is our family's job. We will explain every aspect of the services we provide, outline
your options and review the costs so you will have all the information needed to make sensible decisions.
Can Gleason Funeral Home assist with cremation?
Yes, we have arranged cremation services for over 70 years.
Quite often viewing precedes the actual cremation. Many options are available to your family when cremation is your preference.
Is embalming required by law? Not always. However, embalming is preferred if the deceased
is to be viewed. Under certain circumstances it may be required by law.
Should we have an open casket viewing? Viewing with an open casket helps the grieving process by
confronting the reality of death and loss. Grief cannot be resolved until it is confronted.
