John E. and Kathryn B. Gleason founded
the Gleason Funeral Home in 1929 in the city of New Brunswick. Together, John E. and Kathryn B. Gleason built a strong foundation that today's generations continue to use as a standard of excellence.
In 1968, John K. Gleason was licensed as a funeral director. He started the second generation of funeral directors at Gleason Funeral Home. His wife, Barbara A. Gleason was licensed shortly thereafter.

In 1971, in response to the changing needs of contemporary funeral service, John and Barbara, with the guidance of Kathryn, moved to their present location at 1360 Hamilton Street Somerset, New
Jersey. John K. Gleason was named manager of the new facility, a position he holds today. In 1995, Meghan A. Gleason joined the Gleason Funeral Home. In 2001 William K. Gleason became
the newest member of the staff. Kevin M. Peragine, Meghan's husband, is also a funeral director.
It is with pride through three generations, that the Gleason family continues to
offer compassionate care in a contemporary manner.
