Charles Weniger, 78, died Wednesday, September 06, 2017 at his home in Monroe, New Jersey.

Mr. Weniger was born August 11, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois the son of John and Mary (Walsh) Weniger. He lived in Monroe for 6 years and was previously from Franklin Township.

Charles was a unit coordinator for Rutgers Library Imaging Services, where he worked for 12 years. Prior to Rutgers, he worked for Tops Appliances and Temple Steel. Charles was a longtime parishioner at St. Matthias in Somerset and was proud to volunteer his time to at the Franklin Food Bank. Charles was an avid fisherman and puzzler; above all he cherished spending time with his grandchildren.

Mr. Weniger was predeceased by his parents and his brother Tom Weniger.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Penelope Weniger of Monroe; his son, Christopher Weniger and his wife Sharon of Somerset; his daughters, Sandy Sodano and her husband Alfonso of Jackson, Dawn Weniger of Old bridge and LeeAnn Mandrillo and her husband Joseph of Niskauyna, NY; his 6 grandchildren Andrew, Kathryn, Jenna, Lauren, Tara and James; his brothers, Jack, Jim, Larry and Bob Weniger; his sister, Mary Miller; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may visit on Sunday, September 10th from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton Street, Somerset, NJ 08873.

Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 AM on Monday, September 11 at St. Matthias Church in Somerset. Committal Service will follow at Franklin Memorial Park Cemetery in North Brunswick.
